(AP) — Police are trying to help the mother of a 9/11 hero recover his missing high school letter jacket so she can donate it to be displayed at his alma mater in a suburb of the Twin Cities. Tom Burnett Jr. of Bloomington was among several passengers on United Flight 93 who fought off terrorists planning to crash the plane in Washington, D.C. WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Plans to conduct a long-term strategic study for the Port of Wilmington are dovetailing the work of a task force formed studying the feasibility of expanding port operations in Delaware. Secretary of State Jeffrey Bullock, a task force member who also chairs the port's governing board, said the study will look at maximizing the port's current facilities, the feasibility of acquiring an adjacent former landfill property at Pigeon Point and building a container facility along the Delaware River. The National Park Service says over a million archival documents and thousands of artifacts that were moved to a museum storage facility in Maryland will be returned Thursday. The project included moving mechanical and electrical systems above flood elevations and upgrading humidity controls in the museum.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The 157 passengers aboard British Airways Flight 2276 were settled into their seats for the 10-hour flight from Las Vegas to London when a loud boom rocked the aircraft. After firefighters extinguished the flames, emergency vehicles could be seen surrounding the aircraft, which was left a sooty gray from the smoke and fire retardant.
