Asian markets mixed as market awaits Trump's Fed decision
BEIJING (AP) — Most Asian markets rose Monday as investors waited to learn U.S. President Donald Trump's pick to head the Federal Reserve and watch for regional data releases.
KEEPING SCORE: Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index lost under 0.1 percent to 22,002.40 and the Shanghai Composite Index declined 0.8 percent to 3,390.67. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was nearly flat at 28,431.35 and Sydney's S&P-ASX 200 advanced 0.3 percent to 5,919.10. Seoul's Kospi gained 0.1 percent to 2,499.25 and India's Sensex rose 0.4 percent to 33,277.32. Benchmarks in New Zealand, Taiwan and Jakarta also rose while Singapore and Bangkok declined.
