On this day in 1961, Rugby League legend Ellery Hanley MBE was born.

Hanley is widely regarded as one of the greatest players ever after spells in England with Bradford Northern, Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos as well as three stints Down Under which saw him spend time with Balmain Tigers and Western Suburbs. 

He represented Great Britain on 36 occasions, scoring 20 tries before going on to coach the side during the 1994 Ashes Series. Hanley also coached St Helens in 1999 and Doncaster in 2008. Читать дальше...

Big-hearted Willie Isa is making the most of his enforced lay-off - after becoming an NHS volunteer.

The Warriors players are on lockdown because of the government's measures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

And Isa is one of the 750,000 people to have signed up for the scheme to support the NHS by volunteering.

Hello fellow RL fans,

Wire fan here who spent a lot of time travelling around watching RL in the 90s, home and away.

I am researching/putting together a book of Memories of Wilderspool, but someone suggested I expand it (if I can) to cover some of the other grounds we all have fond memories of, that held such an important place in our communities, now unfortunately lost to the bulldozers and property developers.

Shame that but understandable in the circumstances. Hope he gets an opportunity to come back at some point. I think he did enough to earn a full time contract next time rather than the part time deal he was on.

Mate of mine runs a holiday letting company, usually there is a penalty for cancellations. His attitude is to refund no questions, why, coz these are his future customers.
Hotel that looked like they were trying to shaft you obviously have not thought of that.
Treat people right now, they will come back, treat em wrong, that's a lost customer for ever.

For all those people now faced with the prospect of having to self isolate and wondering how to pass the time, can I suggest doing something that is enjoyable, interesting, educational and cheap. Why not trying to write a novel based on your own life and times.

I think a lot of company's will be judged on how they act during this period.

It might be unprecedented and it might be that there are no rules in place, but be nice would be my advice.

My Mrs got an email from sky stating it could be frozen but you have to act on it as it's not automatically done for you, when you do you still have the channels for free and will when service of life games commence will then take payment as before
