Why indeed after dragging the game backwards. This has been hushed up and still the monkeys at the top of the tree think getting Toronto and other far flung nations involved in the english league is a good thing. I agree we need to expand the game but through sustainable progression. Most team fans can afford an occassional trip away but they cannot afford year on year therefore we are not connecting fully with north america. The current CEO is good at talking up the game and he has master minded the upgrade to the promotional side of the club in an effort to increase attendance. The upgrade in promotional work has coincided with a drop in form.

The wrestle is the single most worst thing that’s happened to RL in a very long time.
Hate it, ruins the game.
Compare a RL and RU game 10 years ago and now.
Where RL could claim to be the quickest and more interesting of the two back then- it cannot now!

Don't get me wrong, I'd love G Burgess if we could make it happen as it's a desperate squad need but he's not an elite player. He'll do a brilliant run on minute and the next minute he'll knock on inside his own 20. Kinda like a slightly better BMM.

But as Shazbaz referred to, it's possible that he simply isn't worth the money.

The RFL made a loss of over 300k last year! They blame the small crowd at the Challenge Cup Final last year as the main reason! The game is dying a slow death i afraid!. There are a few reasons for the this but i do blame the Salary Cap as the main reason. The Semi Finals are being played at a Ground where they are Millions in Debt and cannot afford the wages of the staff! Most things in any organisation are driven by top leadership . Unfortunately we have the most anonymous leaders who dont seem to have a clue on motivation and ambition . Boris is currently showing exactly how a new man at the top can change the mood of everyone around him . Delivery though will have to be earned. We desperately need a change at the top to provide the spark .
