Murdock, Wilkin and Shenton are very good speakers about the game but they are summerisers not commentators.

SKY need to look at regular sports journalists/commentators from radio and tv. SKY pay very well, can demand and should get quality. There's plenty around.
I like Joe Mills, he's on local radio and when nothing is happening he talks local matters. A national broadcaster would have someone who could be versatile and talk both local, the whole sport and national.

Personally I feel a lot more confident commenting on the game after I've seen it (all) on TV. Watching live, plenty can be missed, players misidentified, etc.

Two more venues have been confirmed for the launch weekend of the new WRL-approved charity magazine, to be published to raise money for “The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund” and “Scott’s Angels".

The publication entitled “100 Months of Rugby League in Wales” will go to the clubs where the players who the causes were created for - Scott Bessant and Danny Jones - started out in rugby league.

The thing that gets me about where the show has split from the books is that the popular characters all survive.

Jamie or Bronn should have been killed in the convoy.

Tormund, Dolorous Edd etc at the wall.

And I’ll go out on a limb and say Jon and Danerys should die and Cersei remain on the throne in true GOT fashion but I think it will go all Disney.

Can't say I'm surprised by that - although perhaps I was a bit surprised that Hull didn't win by more.

I had the distinct pleasure of listening on Radio Humberside - the only light relief to hearing us lose was the comedy value of the biased commentators; it was like standing behind two Hull fans on the terraces! God knows who they were - but it was hilariously awful, particularly the main guy mangling Fifita's name into almost unrecognisable collections of vowels and consonants; my favourite was Fia-Fitta. I know what you mean regarding age. He’s 30 now so would be 31 when he arrives here. However I think we need more leaders on the field, especially in the pack. 3 years with Merrin and Thompson in the back row could be what the likes of smith and trout need before fully establishing themselves in the future.
