When does Morrisons’ new telesales delivery service launch and what items area available?
They're doing their bit to help the elderly and vulnerable.
Supermarkets have been extending extra help to the elderly and vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic, which saw panic buying and empty shelves left in stores as people rushed to stock up.
And among those stepping up their service to those self-isolating at home in the coming weeks and months is Morrisons – who are launching a telesales service for those who cannot get to the shops or order online.
But just when does the new service launch, what can customers order – and how long will they have to wait for their deliveries to arrive?
Here’s what you need to know…
When does Morrisons’ new telesales delivery service launch?
Morrisons’ new telesales delivery service is available to customers now.
You can access the service by calling 0345 611 6111 and selecting option 5 on your phone when prompted.
What items are available over the phone?
Customers will be able to order from a list of 47 essential items and pay via card over the phone.
The items include staples such as milk, butter eggs, potatoes, flour, bananas and pasta – as well as bread, chopped tomatoes, ready meals, toilet roll and sugar.
If a customer isn’t happy with an item delivered or it doesn’t match what was ordered, they can also refuse it when it’s delivered.
How long will the order take to arrive?
Orders will be delivered the next day from the nearest Morrisons store.
The move is one of a number the supermarket chain has made to help people ensure they have what they need during the lockdown.
As well as launching food boxes containing essentials, they’ve also launched a partnership with Deliveroo – allowing customers to order from around 70 essential items and have them delivered on the same day.
