Stepanakert advised Aliyev to refrain from assessing democratic processes in other states
ArmInfo.Stepanakert advised the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to refrain from assessing the democratic processes in other states.
"When the leader of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev talks about democratic
processes in other states, and even more criticizes them, at best it
should be treated with humor, at worst do not pay attention to the
nonsense leader of an authoritarian state. Aliyev has neither the
moral nor the legal right to talk about democratic processes. About
democracy says the country's leader, who turned his own state into a
khanate, privatized the country and completely subordinated to the
Aliyev clan. Fat point in this whole story was the appointment of
Vice President of the country his wife Mehriban Aliyeva. The entire
international community laughs at the actions of Aliyev. As they say,
their son will be the second vice-president, and it remains only to
appoint another mother-in-law on the advice of Kazakhstan, this will
be the culmination of their disgrace," said the spokesman of NKR
President David Babayan in a conversation with ArmInfo correspondent.
Referring to Aliyev's statement that the extradition and further
imprisonment of blogger Alexander Lapshin for visiting
Nagorno-Karabakh was an instructive lesson for others, the official
representative of the NKR leader expressed his conviction that this
is the result of inaction by the international community. According
to him, thus, Aliyev challenges the international community. Babayan
believes that if the international community, especially the European
structures, would give an adequate assessment and condemn these
actions of Baku, Aliyev would not dare to make such cynical
statements today. "I also want to note that the participation in the
constitutional referendum of international observers from three dozen
countries, a vivid example of the fact that Aliyev will not be able
to intimidate people. Well, let persecution of scientists, European
parliamentarians, journalists begin. So they only once again
compromise themselves. At the same time, I believe that the
international community should give an appropriate assessment to such
actions of Baku, as it is a slap in the first place to them," resumed
Babayan.
To note, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, stated during the
speech to the Cabinet: "In the first quarter of this year, the focus
was also on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The OSCE
Minsk Group co-chair countries several times stated that the "status
quo" is unacceptable. The Minsk Group should increase pressure on
Armenia. The UN Security Council adopted 4 resolutions on the
conflict. These resolutions must be implemented unconditionally.
Despite all attempts by Armenia, its unconstructive and insincere
policy turned into an object of condemnation. Azerbaijan is getting
stronger every day, and I am sure that this issue will sooner or
later be fairly resolved. Having conducted an illegal referendum in
Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia once again disgraced itself. Its neighbors,
the countries members of the MG, the European Union and other
countries, immediately condemned this referendum. They said that
they did not recognize it. The international community, not
recognizing this referendum, demonstrated support for the territorial
integrity of Azerbaijan. Another successful moment is the extradition
of a citizen of a foreign country to Azerbaijan who illegally
traveled to Nagorno-Karabakh. This was a lesson to someone who
rudely violated our laws, as well as to him similar."
