"The April war has demonstrated that there is a plan on returning the territories. It became obvious that Serzh Sargsyan for retaining the power has become copartner of this plan, consequently our main task should be prevention of revolt, which may arise for maintaining territorial integrity of our country. In this light we should establish a coordination body in order to keep the tidal wave within civilized framework and achieve building of new statehood. In other case the revolt may be sudden and shocking", he stressed. At the same time Sefilyan has stated that one should not rely on political forces and should work with those persons, whose reputation is not tainted.
On June 20, 2016, Zhirayr Sefilyan was detained on suspicion of organizing a criminal group. 8 persons face charges of acquisition and keeping of weapons and ammunition. 6 have been arrested and 1 is wanted. According to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia, Sefilyan and his supporters were planning to seize buildings of state importance in early April.
