Eduard Sharmazanov: Due to its non-constructive policy, Ankara has zero neighbors and numerous problems instead of zero problems with neighbors
Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Head of the Armenia-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group Eduard Sharmazanov and his Greek counterpart Anastasios Kourakis and leader of the New Democracy Party, ex-President of the Hellenic Parliament Evangelos Meimarakis discussed the two countries' cooperation during Sharmazanov's visit to Athens.
Sharmazanov expressed hope that the parliamentary relations between the two countries will keep expanding and developing. The sides also pointed out the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation within international structures.
The Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament also touched on the current stage of the Armenian-Turkish normalization process. In this light, he pointed out that Ankara declared the principle "zero problems with neighbors" and tried to improve its relations with Armenia, however, due to its policy the result is quite the opposite - zero neighbors and numerous problems.
Sharmazanov thinks that Turkey's preconditions for the Armenian-Turkish normalization are unacceptable. He said that Ankara and Baku fail to contribute to regional security and stability. "Baku's militarist rhetoric and any attempt of military settlement of the Karabakh conflict are unacceptable," he said.
The Armenian Vice Speaker invited his Greek counterpart to visit Armenia.
