Kazakhstan is ready to become a long-term supplier of copper and other metals - Tokayev
Addressing the participants, Tokayev described Bavaria as a truly unique region where technological progress and industrial achievement blend seamlessly with rich cultural heritage, strong traditions, and a distinguished spirit of innovation.
"German business enjoys a high reputation in our country due to its quality, reliability, and technological sophistication. Today, we have every opportunity to further strengthen our economic ties. Bavaria holds a special place in this regard as one of Europe's leading industrial regions and a world-renowned hub for engineering and high technology. For our citizens, the 'Made in Germany' label has always been synonymous with quality and reliability. That is why I considered it important to visit Munich personally for direct dialogue with Bavaria’s political leadership and business community," the President of Kazakhstan stated.
The Head of State noted that Bavaria is one of Kazakhstan's key trading partners among the German federal states.
"Kazakhstan's main export items include oil, ferroalloys, steel, iron, copper, aluminum, inorganic chemicals, oilseeds, grain, and other commodities," Tokayev said.
The President specifically highlighted the extensive presence of leading Bavarian companies in Kazakhstan, including Siemens, Siemens Energy, Knauf, Horsch, and others.
According to the Head of State, the next stage of Kazakh-German economic relations should focus on advanced technologies, high-tech manufacturing, and joint expansion into new markets.
The President briefed Bavarian business leaders on the ongoing improvements to the country's investment climate. Specifically, he informed forum participants about the activities of the Government’s Investment Task Force and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
Tokayev went on to outline the key areas for mutually beneficial partnership.
"One of the priorities must be the development of advanced manufacturing. Kazakhstan is increasing capacity in sectors such as mechanical engineering, metallurgy, the electrical industry, and industrial component manufacturing. At the same time, further labor productivity growth will increasingly depend on automation, robotics, and digital production management. Companies like Siemens and KUKA are global leaders in industrial automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Large Kazakh enterprises, including Qarmet, can provide stable demand and reliable partnerships in the industrial sphere. Our ambitions can be summed up in a simple formula: 'Produced in Kazakhstan using Bavarian technology with German quality,'" he noted.
The President identified critical materials as another key area for partnership.
"As German industry seeks to ensure security and diversify its sources for critical resources, Kazakhstan is ready to become a reliable, long-term supplier of copper, titanium, aluminum, beryllium, tantalum, and niobium," the Head of State noted.
