Tokayev holds phone call with European Council President
Tengrinews.kz — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with President of the European Council Antonio Costa, according to the Akorda press service.
During the conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Antonio Costa discussed current issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
The sides noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of the Kazakhstan-EU strategic partnership, paying particular attention to the implementation of agreements reached during the Head of State’s June visit to Brussels.
As a reminder, on June 23 this year, the President of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Brussels and met with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
At the time, the leaders welcomed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit as a strong signal of the deepening strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union amid the growing geopolitical importance of transport connectivity, energy security and resilient supply chains.
President Tokayev’s visit to Brussels became one of the most notable foreign policy events of the summer. During meetings with EU leaders, the sides discussed the visa regime, investments worth billions of euros, aviation, critical minerals, logistics and Kazakhstan’s role as a link between Europe and Asia.
