Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman faulted investigators last week when he complained that he doesn't have enough evidence to charge Officer Mohamed Noor in the killing of Justine Ruszczyk Damond. Noor shot Damond in the alley behind her home after she called 911 to report a possible sexual assault.

WILLARD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say a body has been found inside a burning home in southwest Missouri. Willard Fire Chief Ken Scott says crews made the discovery early Thursday during a search of the home after the fire was extinguished. The Springfield News-Leader reports that the man's body was in a back bedroom. Scott said the house had been vacant for the past 10 years. HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — The 19-year-old suspect in a fatal shooting Hutchinson has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. The Hutch Post reports Leo Wells was originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Kenneth Thompson. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge on Wednesday.
