Turarov withdraws from Golden Contracts tournament
Turarov was supposed to be one of the fighters taking part in the tournament, which sees the fighters competing for a large value 2 year contract, with 5 fights. Sadly though he pulled out on November 16th and has since confirmed it was due to an injury he suffered.
Unlike many tournaments in boxing the Golden Contract tournament only sees the fighters become aware of who they are fighting on the week of the fight. This adds a sense of randomness to the process and can cause some very interesting scenarios.
Sadly Turarov was one of two fighters to pull put, along with Anthony Yigit, though the remaining fighters do appear well matched and we expect the tournament will be compelling, even if it does lack two of it's more notable competitors.
The first round bouts for the tournament will take place this coming Friday at the York Hall, in London.
