UFC Argentina betting odds: Ponz favored to finish Magny
Check out the betting odds for today’s UFC Argentina card, where Santiago Ponzinibbio is favored over Neil Magny in the main event.
It’s fight day! Before you catch tonight’s UFC Argentina card, take a gander at the event’s betting odds. The top of the billing has the promotion’s the #10 ranked welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio (-215) strongly favored over the #8 ranked Neil Magny (+195). This main event line did not start out this way, however, Magny initially opened up on betting site 5Dimes as a -210 favorite with Ponzinibbio the betting underdog at +160. Ponzinibbio is also favored to finish his foe, with Ponzinibbio wins by TKO/KO being found with a moneyline of -115. By comparison, Magny wins by TKO/KO sits at a massive underdog line of +850.
If you want remove the scorecards altogether, then Ponzinibbio becomes a moderate favorite and Magny becomes a chunky underdog. Ponzinibbio (scorecards = no action) can be found at -380 and Magny (scorecards = no action) clocks in at +290. Add back in the scorecards, and you can get Magny wins by decision for +420 and Ponzinibbio wins by decision for +505.
In the co-main event, top-15 featherweights collide as the #13 ranked Ricardo Lamas (-170) is favored over the #14 ranked Darren Elkins (+160). This bout is expected to go the distance, with Fight goes to decision rocking a favored line of -180. Fight doesn’t go to decision holds an underdog tag of +150. For what it’s worth, more of Lamas’ UFC bouts (8) have finished inside the distance than those that haven’t (6), while more of Elkins’ UFC matches (13) have gone the distance than those that haven’t (6).
Fun fact:
This is the 16th time out of 20 UFC appearances that Elkins has seen underdog odds. Of those 15 previous times with a plus line, Elkins made good on 10 of them, so he’s kind of made a career out of being a live dog. This fun fact could be a testament to just how impossibly tough Elkins is. It’s like he doesn’t have a nervous system and can’t feel pain or something.
Tonight’s UFC Fight Night: Magny vs. Ponzinibio main card will air live on FS1 at 10:00 P.M. ET with the prelims starting at 8:00 P.M. ET on FS1. The Exclusive Fight Pass prelims will begin at 7:00 P.M. ET.
