‘Silent Sam’ decision provokes loud response at UNC
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill board of trustees approved a plan earlier this week to return a controversial Confederate monument to the campus, despite pleas from many on campus who called it a symbol of racism. That brought protests and objections from many on campus, and complaints also from people who want the statue returned to the prominent location where it has stood for more than a century.
