A Spanish customs agent died Sunday after a customs agency helicopter crashed into the sea while chasing suspected drug smugglers off Spain's southern coast, officials said. Two other customs agents who were also on board the chopper when it went down in waters near Sotogrande, a coastal down near Gibraltar, survived the crash, a union for Spain's Civil Guard police force said in a tweet. Magisterial inquiries into four prison deaths last year have concluded that three of them were due to natural causes, while one was a suicide. The inquiry conclusions, seen by Times of Malta, found that all the prisoners had underlying heart conditions that went undetected throughout their lives. A 37-year-old man was jailed for 18-months on Sunday after he pleaded guilty to fraud and impersonating a police officer. The police said on Facebook that they had received reports that a man stopped people and ‘fined’ them for not wearing a mask after he claimed to be a police officer. Twelve people died and 26 others were injured when a bus carrying migrants crashed in eastern Turkey on Saturday night, local media reported, quoting authorities in the prefecture of Van. Two Ambjent Malta employees were injured on Sunday while carrying out cleaning and maintenance works in Qawra as part of the Insebbħu Pajjiżna campaign. The government said in a statement the workers were caught between their car and another that was being driven in Triq Ras il-Qawra. They were painting pedestrian railings in the area.
