My secret cleaning weapon works on everything from walls to shoes – take care of 150 messes with a money-saving trick
FROM scuff marks on your walls to dirty sneakers, one product is said to tackle 150 areas of your home.
One expert revealed the secret weapon she always has in her cleaning caddy.
Maria Striemer, Global Scientific Communications Home Car Senior Manager at Proctor and Gamble, spoke exclusively with The U.S. Sun about her go-to product.
Striemer recommended her company’s Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, available for $5 from Target.
She described the item as “without a doubt” her favorite miracle cleaner.
“They can clean over 100 types of messes from the bathroom to the kitchen,” Streimer explained.
“From your tennis shoes to your coffee maker and your outdoor patio furniture.”
The micro-scrubbers are designed to “reach into the surface grooves, lifting away built-up dirt and grime with water alone.”
Capable of tackling over 100 areas, the multi-surface cleaner can be used throughout the home.
Manufacturers suggest using the item as a wall cleaner, bathtub cleaner, oven door cleaner, or for erasing marks on light switches and doors.
The scrubbers are described as three times stronger than an all-purpose bleach spray.
To save money, Streimer recommends opting for the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Ultra Thick, which is available for $6 from Target.
According to the cleaning expert, the ultra-thick option lasts seven times longer than the original.
“One eraser goes a long way as you can clean over 150 messes with it,” she explained.
“Because of this, you can increase the lifespan of some of the items around your home, enabling you to clean them instead of replacing or refinishing them.”
She suggested using the product on everything from your sneakers to walls to your suitcases.
“It also saves you money because it’s a one-stop product, it’s the tool and cleaner in one,” Streimer added.
DUSTING
The cleaning pro previously shared her spring dusting tip that helps with allergies.
“We open our windows, letting the outside in, and our pets also carry dander all around the house,” she explained.
“The best method is to clean from top to bottom, meaning start from the ceiling and move down to the floor.”
Streimer recommended paying extra attention to the corners of your rooms as dust bunnies tend to form there.
“People often forget to dust or clean their ceiling fans, crowning, etc. and those are just as important too,” she added.
The Proctor and Gamble employee also recommended cleaning your electronic devices regularly.
“My computer can get pretty gross, I use an electric toothbrush — no water or toothpaste, of course — to help clean out those crumbs from my keyboard and speaker,” she said.
“It really gets into those hard-to-reach spaces — just don’t use anyone’s toothbrush in your house.”
