Expanded NATO cooperation strengthens Armenia’s security – ambassador
Armenia’s expanded cooperation with NATO can strengthen the country’s defense and security, according to Ambassador Kenneth Yalovits, a retired US diplomat.
Speaking to the Armenian service of the Voice of America, Mr Yalovits said he expects a closer collaboration with the North-Atlantic bloc to give Armenia more chances of foreign policy maneuvers.
Commenting on the NATO Summit in Warsaw, the ambassador said the two-day meeting will focus on two key issues: fight against terrorism in the Middle East, and prevention of possible hazards by Russia.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg further addressed their relations with Russia, saying that the alliance never suspended the dialogue with the country, with representatives of member states periodically meeting with different Russian officials.
