‘I will prove my innocence’, says sacked Armenian health official
The National Health Agency’s former head, suspended recently over abuse of power, insists on being guiltless of the criminal offenses imposed by law enforcers.
“I will certainly prove [my innocence], ” Saro Tsaturyan told Tert.am on Tueasday.
Tsaturyan was sacked from office along with two other high-ranking health officials over suspicions of issuing of false medical references worth reportedly about 80 million Armenian Drams (US $170,000).
Tsaturyan refrained from giving any details as to the criminal case, asking us instead to contact the Ministry of Health for further comments. “I cannot give any comments; a proceeding is now under way to resolve all the circumstances,” he told our correspondent.
