Today’s Agenda: July 24, 2018
Good morning. Here’s what our editors and writers are watching today.
Stories We’re Following
Tierney Sneed will be at the federal courthouse in Alexandria for a 9 a.m. hearing, where the judge presiding over the Paul Manafort trial will distribute the written jury questionnaire to the potential jurors. U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis says he plans to give some remarks introducing the potential jurors to the case. Jury selection itself will not begin until next Tuesday, July 31, when the trial is officially set to begin.
Allegra Kirkland is working on a story addressing the question of whether or not Mariia Butina should be considered a “spy” for Russia or if “operative” or “agent” is a more fitting term.
Trump is traveling to Kansas City, Missouri today. He’s addressing the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention, so we’ll keep an eye on that as well as any remarks he might give to the press along the way.
