Hawaii-based missile-defense radar system to be fielded by 2023
Adm. Harry Harris, head of U.S. Pacific Command, cited North Korea as the preeminent missile threat to Hawaii. The Missile Defense Agency is requesting nearly $100 million in fiscal year 2019 for the Hawaii radar system and a similar system elsewhere in the Pacific.
