Report: Raiders ‘strongly considering’ acquiring Marshawn Lynch
The Raiders are “strongly considering” acquiring running back Marshawn Lynch, an Oakland native who didn’t play in the NFL last year after he announced his retirement on social media during Super Bowl 50 in February 2016, ESPN first reported.
The Seahawks retain the rights to Lynch, 30, meaning Oakland would have to make a trade or sign him if Seattle released him.
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenize and Seahawks GM John Schneider are close friends who worked together for eight seasons in the Packers’ front office.
The Raiders have a need for a frontline running back after Latavius Murray, their starter the past two seasons, signed with the Vikings on Wednesday.
