Spurs’ Popovich goes off on election of Donald Trump

With that, he followed NBA coaches such as the Warriors’ Steve Kerr and Detroit’s Stan Van Gundy in lashing out at Trump’s election.
“I’m a rich white guy and I’m sick to my stomach thinking about it,” said Popovich, a graduate of the Air Force Academy and the next coach of the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team.
Pau Gasol set season highs with 21 points and six assists, and San Antonio snapped a three-game home losing streak.
Damian Lillard had 36 points and CJ McCollum scored 31 to lead host Portland to an overtime victory.
Adding a win to its White House visit, LeBron James (27 points) and Cleveland won on the strength of 14 three-pointers.
DeMar DeRozan scored 34 points as visiting Toronto snapped Charlotte’s four-game winning streak.
