Art ‘Safe to Touch’ at S.F. library
The multimedia installation presented by the Artful Steps program at the Stepping Stones Growth Center puts art in the hands of visitors to the San Francisco Library for the Blind and Print Disabled.
Repurposed materials such as bottle caps, woolly felt and domino pieces find their way into the mix.
The methods are exploratory, but the result is clear: making art accessible to the student artists with developmental disabilities at the nonprofit Stepping Stones Growth Center in San Leandro — as well as to blind and sighted library patrons.
