Officials: chemical mix up in Anamosa drinking water
ANAMOSA, Iowa (AP) — Anamosa residents are being asked to drink bottled water after city officials said a chemical delivery to the eastern Iowa city's water system may have been mislabeled.
City Administrator Alan Johnson said Monday that the unknown chemical that entered Anamosa's water supply may have been vegetable oil or laundry soap, but it won't be known until further testing is complete.
The city is flushing the water distribution system and has contacted hospitals, schools, and restaurants advising them to use bottled water.
