Giants’ Bumgarner to miss one or two starts with two ailments
Giants ace Madison Bumgarner will miss up to two starts with a pair of injuries that he insists are minor, adding he believes he will be able to raise his pitch count enough by the end of spring training to make his scheduled Opening Day start in Milwaukee.

The 26-year-old left-hander said the medical staff already had been “making progress” calming it down.
[...] Bumgarner played catch Saturday despite the injury and plans to do so again in a day or two.
Chris Heston, who increasingly looks like he will take Matt Cain’s first scheduled start in the regular season, will pitch against the Padres in Bumgarner’s place.
[...] on the injury front, Denard Span said he still has no timetable to play his first game in center field.
