Doan’s hat trick can’t lift Coyotes past Kane, Blackhawks
Patrick Kane scored a goal, assisted on two others and raised his NHL-leading point total to 53 in helping the Chicago Blackhawks to a 7-5 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday night.
Andrew Desjardins scored twice for the visiting Blackhawks, who overcame Shane Doan’s hat trick and set a season high for goals in a game.
Artem Anisimov scored his 13th of the season, Brent Seabrook had two assists and Duncan Keith added a goal and an assist for Chicago.
Doan tied Dale Hawerchuk for the Coyotes’ franchise record with 379 goals.
Doan’s final goal came on a power play with 27.1 seconds left.
Corey Crawford stopped 32 shots, though he allowed third-period goals to Doan and Connor Murphy as the Coyotes cut into a 6-2 lead.
Benoit Pouliot and Mark Letestu had goals for the Oilers, who had won seven consecutive home games.
