Former officer to face death penalty in chief slaying case
BELTON, Texas (AP) — Bell County prosecutors say they'll seek the death penalty when a 59-year-old former police officer goes on trial early next year for the slaying of a Central Texas police chief.
Risner had peace officer and jailer licenses that were placed on hold in 2012 by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, indicating some arrest or violation.
