Elementary school teachers discuss learning retention method
(AP) — Teachers at Linden Elementary School in Fremont met with a former superintendent of a California public school district Wednesday to discuss his learning retention teaching method.
Developed by Lee Jenkins, the L-to-J system method focuses on giving kindergarten and elementary students weekly quizzes in a variety of subjects that include information they already know, information they're currently learning and information they have yet to learn.
Jenkins developed his method after listening to a series of lectures by W. Edwards Deming, who is best known for providing the principles that helped revitalize Japan's post-World War II economy.
