Flood warning issued for Vermont's Barton River
COVENTRY, Vt. (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Barton River in northern Vermont.
The weather service says by 3:30 p.m. Monday, the river's water level in Coventry was 7.6 feet. Flood stage is at 8 feet, and the weather service expects the river will rise above flood stage Monday night, peaking at 8.4 feet by early Wednesday morning.
If that happens, several roads will be flooded, and there would be extensive flooding in fields and lowlands.
The flood warning has been issued for Monday night through Wednesday evening.
