DC opening memorial to 9 killed in 2009 red line crash
WASHINGTON (AP) — A memorial honoring the nine people killed in the 2009 crash on Metro's red line is opening.
City officials plan to open Legacy Memorial Park on Monday. The park includes nine sculptural artworks and a memorial wall remembering those that were killed. Monday marks six years since the crash.
The park is located at the corner of 5720 New Hampshire Ave. NE and North Dakota Avenue NE. It's near the site of the red line crash, which happened between the Tacoma Park and Fort Totten stations on the red line.
