DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in the Dayton area are investigating the early morning fatal stabbing of a 42-year-old woman. Montgomery County sheriff's deputies responded at 1:12 a.m. EDT Sunday to a stabbing report in Harrison Township. The sheriff's office says they found the stabbed woman behind a residence, along with a possible suspect and two possible witnesses who were then interviewed. ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) — The family of a Michigan man killed in the Vietnam War who was honored at a recent memorial has been found. The National Security Agency honored the late Sgt. Robert Townsend at the Memorial Wall in Fort Meade, Maryland, on May 29. The Daily Tribune reports about 20 of Townsend's relatives were in attendance. They learned of the special honor thanks to 74-year-old Vietnam veteran Lonnie Long, who searched for Townsend's surviving children for the memorial and contacted the newspaper in March. DEPTFORD, N.J. (AP) — Officials say there is no public safety concern following a shooting at a New Jersey shopping center in New Jersey. Spokesman Bernie Weisenfeld of the Gloucester County prosecutor's office says a Deptford Township officer was involved in the gunfire at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday in a strip mall area near the Deptford Mall. Weisenfeld said there was no search taking place for any suspect following the shooting and no reason for concern about public safety. Authorities have released little information about the shooting. ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — A new automated system will alert some Illinois domestic violence victims when an order of protection they filed has been served, helping victims to better protect themselves. The Rockford Register Star reports Winnebago County used a federal grant to put the system in place. Previously victims had to call county officials to check if a protection order had been served, and often it took several calls. CINCINNATI (AP) — The University of Cincinnati Police Division has launched a nationwide recruitment search. WLWT-TV reports the department kicked off its campaign with an informal video that features the school's athletic programs, faculty and officers. UCPD employs over 70 officers. Department officials hope to add about 10 more. Division Chief Maris Herold says the department will pay for candidates to attend the police academy. Ronda Rousey is making history again, this time as the first woman to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York state has launched a plan to help boost awareness of mosquito-borne diseases and how to avoid them this summer. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the goal is to protect New Yorkers against diseases carried by mosquitoes with statewide public education and outreach programs. ROME (AP) — Italy's economy minister says the new populist government isn't discussing any proposal to leave the eurozone. HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Actor, comedian and author Mindy Kaling is about to deliver the commencement address at Dartmouth College, her alma mater. Kaling graduated from the Ivy League school in 2001. Commencement is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Kaling created, wrote, produced and starred in the medical-themed comedy series "The Mindy Project," and also played Kelly Kapoor on the American version of "The Office" for many seasons.
