WASHINGTON (AP) — Interest rates on short-term Treasury bills fell in Monday's auction with rates on three-month bills dropping to their lowest level in four weeks. Separately, the Federal Reserve said Monday that the average yield for one-year Treasury bills, a popular index for making changes in adjustable rate mortgages, edged down to 0.53 percent last week from 0.55 percent the previous week.

The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law sued over the way the county ran its troubled presidential primary election in March. Upcoming elections will have the normal number of polling places.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's Democratic voter base grew faster than the Republican voter base in July. The Nevada Secretary of State's Office reported Monday that Republicans added more than 5,900 new voters to their ranks last month, while Democrats added nearly 8,600. The agency gives the utility 12 months to tie into the town of Lexington's sewer system, shut down its treatment plant and stop discharging into the river.
