MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin's congressional Democrats are calling on Gov. Scott Walker to reverse his decision and accept a federal food stamp waiver, saying it would restore aid to thousands. Ron Kind, Gwen Moore and Mark Pocan said low-income residents shouldn't be required to have jobs to receive food aid if they can't find work because of a down economy.

The Dallas Morning News (http://bit.ly/1WFgTM3 ) reports that students at John B. Hood Middle School voted to change its name to Piedmont Global Academy on Monday. Board President Eric Cowan proposed a policy change earlier this month that would make it easier to rename district facilities named for Confederate soldiers. The proposal, which has since changed, would've removed the criterion of "military achievement" to consider naming facilities.

ATLANTA (AP) — A kitchen worker died after she was apparently trapped inside of a walk-in freezer for about 13 hours at a downtown Atlanta hotel, police said Tuesday. A search for the woman began when she didn't return home after her shift at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, one of the city's most recognizable skyscrapers with its cylindrical shape. Police have notified the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the death.

HEMPSTEAD, Texas (AP) — A fired Texas trooper has pleaded not guilty to a charge of misdemeanor perjury stemming from his arrest last summer of Sandra Bland, a black woman who was later found dead in a county jail. A Waller County grand jury indicted Encinia in January on the perjury charge for saying in an affidavit that he removed a combative Bland from her car after stopping her near Houston for a minor traffic violation so he could conduct a safer traffic investigation.

The bombs that tore through the Brussels airport Tuesday seriously wounded three Mormon missionaries from Utah, leaving one with burns and shrapnel injuries, and sent a French missionary from their group to the hospital, church officials said. The three Utah men serving in Paris were close to an explosion, but the 20-year-old French woman was in a different area of the airport and received minor injuries.
