The incident occured just before 8 p.m., according to Caltrain, forcing both northbound and southbound trains to hold. The train that struck the adult male was carrying 101 passangers, and it remained at the location for more than an hour while a breif investigation was conducted. No information has been released on the victim, and the coroner has yet to determine the cause of death.

NEW YORK (AP) — A man suspected of slashing a woman in the face, fatally stabbing a store owner and setting a homeless man on fire has been shot and wounded by police in New York City, authorities said. Police say three hours later, a 55-year-old liquor store owner was stabbed to death, and a 61-year-old homeless man was set afire and critically injured. Police converged on the scene and two officers caught up to the suspect in the backyard of a home.
