Warriors rule out Damian Jones for rest of regular season
MILWAUKEE — The Warriors don’t expect to have center Damian Jones, who underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn left pectoral muscle, back during the regular season.
“He can begin rehabbing in six weeks,” Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said, “but he’s out for five or six months.”
Jones probably won’t be ready to return until May or June, when the Warriors will presumably be in the playoffs. It seems unlikely that Jones would be cleared to return during the postseason without the team at least making sure he gets his conditioning back.
In 24 games this season, Jones has started 22 times, averaging 5.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1 block in 17.1 minutes.
