Raiders’ O-line roughed up in loss to 49ers. ‘Back to drawing board’
The return of Pro Bowl left guard Kelechi Osemele from a three-game absence seemed to lend a measure of stability to the Raiders’ offensive line entering Thursday’s game against the 49ers.
That sense did not last.
By the end of the Raiders’ 34-3 loss in Santa Clara, Osemele was playing left tackle, replacing injured rookie and first-round pick Kolton Miller. Rookie right tackle Brandon Parker had been benched and reinserted. Backup Ian Silberman had taken snaps at both tackle positions.
Amid the fluctuation, the Raiders’ offensive line allowed eight sacks to a 49ers defense that had entered the game with 16 the entire season. In one game, the 49ers jumped from being tied for 25th in the league in sacks to being tied for second.
