Community college transfers included in UNH program
DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — The University of New Hampshire is expanding a tuition-free program for qualifying students who transfer to the school from the state's community college system.
The program has helped 800 first-year students studying on the Durham and Manchester campuses. It guarantees New Hampshire students who receive federal Pell grants pay no tuition to attend the university. It is now being offered to new graduates of the community college system.
UNH says the commitment remains in place for the two years to earn a bachelor's degree, provided the student is enrolled full-time, remains Pell eligible and makes satisfactory progress toward their degree.
