Jimmy Butler fiasco contrasts with the Warriors’ way
In today’s episode of “Not the Warriors,” we bring you Jimmy Butler and the Minnesota Timbersolves, a case study in how to wreck an NBA team.
Butler, who demanded a trade weeks ago and badly wants it to happen, stormed into the T-Wolves’ practice session Wednesday and loudly trash-talked everyone, including the owner, the coach, the general manager and two of his favorite targets, teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, who he called “soft” in a reminder of the way he’s always felt about them.
Amazingly, people around the organization tried to portray this as a good thing. “Wow, Jimmy is so intense,” was the tone. “We’re fired-up now! Bring on the season.”
Right. Bring on a disaster.
