UCLA suspends 6 football players
Two De La Salle-Concord alums are among the six players UCLA head coach Chip Kelly has suspended for the Bruins’ season-opening game Saturday.
Kelly said former Spartans Boss Tagaloa (an offensive lineman) and Devin Asiasi (a tight end), along with running back Soso Jamabo, defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa, defensive back Mo Osling and defensive lineman Moses Robinson-Carr, will not play against Cincinnati because of unspecified violations of athletic department policies.
Tagaloa, a 6-foot-1, 315-pound junior, and Asiasi, a 6-3, 250-pound sophomore, are each suspended for the first three games of the season. Jamabo also will miss the game at No. 7 Oklahoma next week.
