Burger Boogaloo brings underground acts back to life
John Waters never disappoints. Once again serving as master of ceremonies for Burger Boogaloo, the suave filmmaker has lured the iconic new wave act Devo out of retirement to headline its first show in four years.
The Ohio group will be joined by the Damned, who released England’s first punk single, “New Rose,” in 1977, along with a full slate of punk and garage acts, including the Mummies, Hunx and His Punx, Rip Offs, Spits, Mudhoney, Dwarves and more.
Also making special appearances are Le Shok, the Long Beach electro band making its first live appearance in 15 years; and the first show in five years by Ty Segall’s surf outfit Traditional Fools.
