St. Mary’s Jock Landale named WCC Player of the Year
St. Mary’s senior center Jock Landale was named the West Coast Conference’s Player of the Year on Tuesday.
Landale, the first Gael to win the award since Matthew Dellavedova in 2011-12, propelled St. Mary’s to a 27-4 regular-season mark and a 16-2 runner-up finish in the WCC.
The 6-foot-11, 255-pounder from Australia shot 64.2 percent from the floor and averaged 21.5 points and 10.2 rebounds while starting all 31 games for the 22nd-ranked Gaels.
Landale’s teammate Emmett Naar was named to the first team, as were USF’s Frankie Ferrari and Santa Clara’s KJ Feagin.
