Wrangler reboot: Fans will find new powertrains, tops and manners for Jeep's off-road icon
Mention "Jeep" and chances are the first thing that pops up in people's heads is today's Wrangler. Tomorrow's all-new 2018 Wrangler popped up at the LA Auto Show earlier this month, giving the public its first up-close look at Jeep's fourth-generation icon.
But the great unknown was how does it drive?
Jaw-droppingly well, it turns out.
We traveled to sunny Tucson and logged a half-day of on- and off-road driving early-production models and found that the new 2018 Wrangler has a dramatically improved ride, car-like handling and a more sophisticated, stylish cabin that's noticeably quieter and user-friendly.
If those descriptors give hardcore rock-crawling fans the jeepers creepers, they needn't fret that the Wrangler's gone soft.
