Man pleads guilty to manslaughter in fatal park shooting
FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man who admitted to killing another man at a city park has been sentenced to up to 18 years in prison.
The Taunton Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/2yd9Yrq ) 20-year-old Syrelle Grace, of Taunton, was sentenced to 13 ½ to 18 ½ years in prison on Thursday in a Fall River court. Grace pleaded guilty to multiple charges including manslaughter and armed robbery with a gun in the 2015 killing of 19-year-old Marcel Francois.
Prosecutors say Grace shot and killed Francois on a basketball court in New Bedford's Harrington Park.
A judge ordered Grace to serve three years' probation following his release.
