Seahawks safety Earl Thomas is “healed” from offseason surgery, and now it’s a matter of strengthening his shoulder in time for Seattle’s Sept. 13 regular season opener against the St. Louis Rams, according to coach Pete Carroll. “We’re just making sure that he has all of the time to gain all of the strength that (we) can just to protect him,” Carroll said Thursday after a light, no-pads walkthrough practice inside the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. “He’s healed and he can do everything right now.” Thomas, 26, was activated off the team’s physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Aug. 5.
