(AP) — President Donald Trump is criticizing the U.S. Postal Service, saying the agency is "losing many billions of dollars a year" and asking why it is "charging Amazon and others so little to deliver their packages." Trump tweeted Friday that the post office "should be charging MUCH MORE!" The post office has lost money for 11 straight years, mostly because of pension and health care costs. NEW YORK (AP) — Goldman Sachs expects to take a $5 billion hit to profits for the fourth quarter and year because of the tax overhaul signed into law last week. The New York bank said Friday that two thirds of the $5 billion are due to changes in repatriation taxes, when funds are returned from overseas. LONDON (AP) — British health officials are considering turning to so-called drunk tanks to ease the strain on emergency rooms and ambulance services caused by heavy drinkers. NHS England said Friday that researchers are looking at whether Alcohol Intoxication Management Services, commonly known as drunk tanks, may be rolled out on a national level. They are already used in some cities. NHS England chief Simon Stevens says heavy drinking is diverting resources needed by sick people. "NHS doesn't stand for 'National Hangover Service,'" he said. CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Every year, 12 million or so turkey hatchlings arrive in South Carolina, bound for hundreds of farms in the Pee Dee and the Upstate where they will be raised for months. By one estimate, the turkeys — mostly males, known as toms — will be worth more than $400 million a year once they've all grown up. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Asian stock markets mostly drifted higher on Friday after Wall Street finished with modest gains. KEEPING SCORE: Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 0.3 percent to 22,841.64 and China's Shanghai Composite Index added 0.2 percent to 3,302.01. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.4 percent to 29,982.17. NEW YORK (AP) — A group led by Japanese technology conglomerate Softbank acquired a major stake in Uber, a deal that curtails the influence of ousted CEO Travis Kalanick, Uber's founder. In a tender offer that expired Thursday, SoftBank acquired a 15 percent stake in the troubled ride-hailing company. Others in the group got about 3 percent, according to a person familiar with the situation who was not authorized to publicly discuss details.
