Celebrate ‘Kobe Bryant Day’ with a new Black Mamba Nike jersey
Nike has dropped a new Kobe jersey that’s part of the new 2018-19 uniform redesign.
For most sports fans, August 24 doesn’t have much relevancy. It’s the dog days of summer, the NBA is (relatively) quiet, and football season is right around the corner.
But for Lakers fans, today is “Kobe Bryant Day,” a day in which LA fans celebrate the Mamba’s storied basketball career and likely watch a million YouTube videos like this one.
But what if you’re looking to celebrate “Kobe Bryant Day” by adding some new merch to your collection?
We have good news to report.
A new Kobe jersey has just dropped
Lakers fans can now pre-order the new Kobe jersey, which is part of the Lakers’ 2018-19 jersey redesign. The Nike Swingman Icon Edition jersey is $109.99 and features Bryant’s No. 8, which he wore from 1997 to 2006.
Important Note: This is a pre-sale item, and we’re told the jerseys will ship in early September.
When the Lakers’ season opens in October, LeBron James will be the new star donning the Lakers’ purple and gold. But for now, let’s reminisce on the greatness of the Black Mamba and enjoy Los Angeles’ basketball holiday.
