Retired NFL lineman and gambling man Geoff Schwartz has a trio of tips for you.
Hey y’all, lets all gamble on some preseason football! You heard me right, yes I’m gambling on some preseason football because it’s freaking football season. Betting on baseball is brutal and I’ve been waiting to dig into some football games and I’ve found three games that I love tonight!
Tampa Bay at Miami -2.5, O/U 34 ... Under 34
Tampa Bay scored no more than 12 points in any preseason game last season. What has changed for the better? Nothing. Jameis Winston is suspended, so Ryan Fitzpatrick will start tonight. Winston will play some and then it’s off to a third string quarterback. Tampa Bay will continue their offensive struggles in the preseason tonight.
Miami has a bad offensive line and a shaky quarterback situation as well. I don’t see many points in this one.
Cleveland -1 at New York Giants, O/U 35 … Under 35
Both teams have brand new offensive coordinators with Mike Shula in New York and Todd Haley in Cleveland. I’ve been a part of many new offensive installs, and the first preseason game is a wreck with everyone trying to figure out what to do in real time, especially with the backups.
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia -3, O/U 34 … Pitt +3
Everything is riding high in Philly after the Eagles won the Super Bowl. Tonight, though, there shouldn’t be much excitement for the Eagles. Carson Wentz and Nick Foles aren’t playing, so we get third- and fourth-string quarterbacks. On the other side, there’s a hearty quarterback competition between Landry Jones, Josh Dobbs and Mason Rudolph. All those guys will want to score points and should play well.
