The Piesman Trophy presents: The greatest big-man TDs ever
Enormous athletes with the football in your hands, we salute you.
Everybody loves big men making plays with the football. Sometimes the most beautiful thing in the world to see is a 250-plus-pound dude getting past the goal line.
Hell, we’ve even got a trophy dedicated to this very art form — the Piesman Trophy, awarded annually by SB Nation to the college lineman who performs the greatest non-lineman play of the year.
So let’s take a look back at some of the greatest Piesman moments, including plenty from years before we started handing out the trophy.
First, here are the three winners of the Piesman so far.
The 2015 winner was Southeastern Louisiana’s Ashton Henderson, on the strength of this nimble scoop-and-score.
2016’s was Pitt’s Brian O’Neill, who caught a lateral that functioned as a surprise screen.

More from him later.
And Heidelberg’s Brock Riggs was the 2017 winner for this hook-and-lateral touchdown, including the 290-pound offensive lineman flipping into the end zone:
