Government criticized for postponing of election of judges by European Court
The Selection Committee of the European Court did not approve any of the candidates nominated by the Government for the position of judges. The process of selecton of judges from Georgia was posponed by the European Human Rights Court for 4 months. PACEwill not take a decision at the autumn session as it was announced previously.
Non-governmental organizations, which have expressed distrust to the candidate selection process by the governmentt, do not rule out that the issue was postponed because of the filed list.
This fact was not a surprise for the Parliamentary Speaker.
The National Movement name as a reason for the postponement by the Council of Europe the fact that the Goverment nominated inappropriate candidates.

The Minister of Justice does name the wrong selection of teh candidates as the reason for the rejection by the European Council. She said that Alexander Baramidze, Eva Gotsiridze and George Badashvili have already passed the interview stage and she saw no problem in postponing the approval procedure ,
